The book mirrors my own experience, opps vice versa, in begining study of philosophy in 1970.
Western philosophy completely ignored eastern in college.
When reading translations of Hindu texts it was obvious that the western philosophers were rehashing ancient Hindu concepts.
I really enjoyed reading this Book, "the Bible in India" by Louis Jacolliot reveals Hindoo Origin of Hebrew and Christian Revelation. How the connection and values of Christ were influenced when he was a young man and lived in Leh region of India.
An amazing document written in the middle of the nineteenth century when very little was known about the Indian/Vedic link with Christianity. As the preface states it is about the history of religious revelation written in a time when the monopoly of the Church about these things was still an absolute and divine right by the ruling orders within Christianity. The book starts with exclaiming Soil of Ancient India, cradle of humanity, hail!.... May we hail a revival of thy past in our Western future!
